At least 50,000 koalas dead in SEQ

Data released by the Department of Environment and Resource Management http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/wildlife-ecosystems/wildlife/koalas/pdf/koala-hospital-data-1997-may2011.pdf shows that in 14 years and 4 months a total of 21,965 koalas were admitted to wildlife hospitals. Statistics November 2011

In November 2011 a total of 116 calls (telephone, email and website) were received for help with koalas and other wildlife.
