Lewis released – what a brave boy

How do we put into words about the strength of such a beautiful animal.  In October last year we all saw the pictures taken when Lewis was in intensive care a few days after he was taken to the wildlife hospital after this vicious dog attack.  What we saw was an extremely sick koala that had been through a  massive operation to repair the numerous puncture wounds left by the dogs teeth.  Here was an animal all bandaged up with tubes running everywhere and not a chance in the world of surviving such trauma.  Thanks to the wonderful vets (Amber claimed to be his new Mum) who did a wonderful job with his treatment all that was left was Lewis’ tenacity to get him through.

Now this brave boy has been released by Amber and our rescuers on a beautiful 1000 acre property with a large number of Blue Gum trees and lots of sunshine, birds and butterflies.  Lots of photos were taken, all that is left is for Lewis to go off and catch up with the girls that we know are in the area.

Fantastic!
This is what makes the tears and the heartache of rescue worthwhile.
Good luck Lewis, live long and procreate!!!
